My name is Yanzhen Wang (王 彦臻). I am currently an assistant professor at State Key Laboratory of High Performance Computing (HPCL) and School of Computer, National University of Defense Technology (NUDT), China. I am also a memeber of the micROS team, which is a research group focused on developing of an operating system for swarm robots and other multi-robot systems. I obtained my Ph.D in Computer Science in 2011 from NUDT, under the supervision of Prof. Yueshan Xiong. From 2009 to 2011, I worked as a visiting student in the GrUVi Lab of Simon Fraser University (SFU), Canada, under the supervision of Prof. Richard (Hao) Zhang. From June of 2012, I spent 18 months in Manchester Institute of Biotechnology (MIB), UK, as a sponsored researcher, working with Dr. Xue-Feng Yuan.
My research interests are in the areas of robotics and visual computing. My recent research topics include path/motion planning for mobile robots, simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM), robot software framework, and development tools for robotic applications.
